Who are Clarity&?

Crystal clear communication is just our thing. Being authentic, willing to have tough but honest, sometimes challenging, discussions to really understand the root cause is what we pride ourselves upon.

Our primary mission is to give individuals, teams and businesses real clarity on the issues that are contributing to stress, emotional burnout, productivity, or team dynamic problems.

Far more powerful than a standalone yoga class Clarity& offer science-backed support, re-education & practical techniques to prevent early signs of overwhelm or symptoms of disease, impacting staff wellbeing.

Our mission

Our core goal is to prevent mental health crises before they occur and support people to build resilience through simple, small incremental lifestyle, diet and mindset changes. Managaeable habit shifts which build over time to create a robust and diverse set of incredibly powerful self-care strategies to weather the storms of life, both at home and in the workplace.

Consider us to be the 111 service, empowering your staff to self-manage early signs & offer peers their support; versus waiting for the crisis 999 situation to arise that requires full EAP support and a period out of the business.

And the &? Well, that’s for you to decide – it could be you are after Clarity& a wellbeing strategy, Clarity& less stress or lower blood pressure or just Clarity& a better night’s sleep!

Meet Kirsty and Andy

Kirsty Dobson

Hi, I'm Kirsty cofounder and Therapeutic Director of Clarity&. I am also a wife, mother, ex-NHS health professional and a lifelong mind:body wellbeing champion. Throughout my 23-year career as a dietitian I saw countless examples of the clear link between mental ill health and chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, dementia and irritable bowel syndrome. Now science has proven the irrefutable significance of holistic healthcare in preventing and managing chronic diseases. Clarity& seek to translate the research into practical hints and bio-hacks to support your mind:body wellbeing from all angles.

Andy Dobson

Hi, I’m Andy, and I’m hugely passionate about mental health and wellbeing. For the record, that is absolutely not something I would ever have said just a few short years ago. In fact, at first, neither Kirsty nor I could really accept depression and anxiety as a diagnosis. Both are often still stigmatised in the UK, along with other mental health conditions. Our generation, and others, have used the “stiff upper lip” approach to all things mental health-related. I certainly used to.

The path to recovery has been challenging but hugely enlightening, and genuinely beneficial to quite literally every aspect of our lives. This combined lived and professional experience enables me to work with individuals and organisations to identify and implement more effective, sustainable ways of working with your most important asset; your people.

Who we are NOT

Trained counsellors or psychotherapists

We regard ourselves as being the step BEFORE these experts are needed, that said we will advise onward referral if this need arises as a critical step towards making sustained progress.

An emergency mental health service

If you suffer with severe or unstable mental illness or you are currently in mental health crisis the first point of call is your GP to access qualified support. Further information on accessing helplines can be found here: Where to get urgent help for mental health - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

Medical doctors or pharmacists

Any improvements in your physical or mental health symptoms which have the potential to reduce or stop your prescribed medication should ALWAYS be discussed with your doctor or pharmacist prior to changing dose or stopping treatment.
